It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Elsie in the presence of her family in her 69th year. She is predeceased by her son Raymond Clyde Welcher; mother Bessie Mahaney; father Roy Mahaney and brother Fred Vaters. Leaving to cherish her memories are her husband Solomon; sons, Dwayne (Mona), Solomon (Tammy), and Derrick; daughters, Juanita (George) Sturge, Theresa Welcher and Wanda Lee (Tommy) Barbour; brothers, Leonard (Eileen) Mahaney, Silas (Florence) Mahaney, Tom Mahaney, Norman Mahaney, Philip (Joan) Mahaney, Garfield (Linda) Mahaney and Willis (Cindy) Mahaney; sisters, Margaret (David) Higdon, Marjorie (Joe) Oliver, Edith Mahaney and Bessie Hunt; grandchildren, Nicole Welcher (Mark), Jackie (Mitchell) Winter, Kayla (Mark) Powell, Gina-Rae (Trevor) Hicks, Johnathan Sturge, Matthew Sturge (Jenna), Noah and Rebecca Spurrell, Alisha, Raymond and Ocean Welcher, Marcus Welcher, Adison and Jake Barbour; great-Grandchildren, Aiden and Gracie Winter, Anna Hicks and Jackson Powell. Elsie was a kind hearted and free spirited woman. She enjoyed baking bread, preparing home cooked meals, doing puzzle books, and spending countless hours with her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her big smile and her ability to brighten everyone’s day. Sadly missed but never will be forgotten. “Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen unheard but always near, so loved, so missed, so very dear”. Flowers are graciously accepted, or as an expression of sympathy donations in her memory may be made to the family.
