The Sturge family of Valleyfield would like to announce the sudden passing of Avalon. He was the last surviving child born to Jacob & Louisa Sturge, predeceased by son Fredrick, six brothers and two sisters. Leaving to mourn with fond memories are his loving wife of sixty- six years Minnie, his sons: Eric (Sylvia), Elotus ( Joanne), Philip ( Sandra), and daughters: Shirley (Clyde), Dorothy (Herbert), Cynthia (Andy), Sophie . Also leaving to mourn 15 Grandchildren, 21 Great-Grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a large circle of family and friends. Rev. Brian Hannon conducted the funeral service at the Memorial United Church in Valleyfield on March 18, 2012@ 2:00pm. Followed by Internment at the United Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Avalon to the War Amps or The Janeway Children’s Hospital.
